Save the Planet! What are the things which can help…?
Yesterday was world environment day- a day when everyone talks about the environment, the ecosystem. It’s time to focus on cleaning up the planet. This isn’t just a day to read about the problem affecting the nations but it’s all regarding actions and manning up, getting off the chair to help preserve our nature. This means organizing an outing for picking litter, hiking in a local park, planting trees or clicking beautiful shots outdoors and sharing them online.
This Year’s Theme
This year, it is all about connecting people with nature which means inducing people to get out of their homes and appreciate the beauty of the environment of our planet in order to make them realize the importance of securing it for future generations.
Canada, the host country for this year has chosen the theme which will be the center of world environment day activities.

There will be action against wildlife crimes, cleaning up of neighborhoods and people planting trees across the world. This is the day for raising awareness about the significance of protecting the nature, so anything that gets people on their heels to embrace the outdoors is one step towards helping.
In past few decades, the advancement in science and rising environmental problems like global warming and greenhouse effect are helping us to understand the number of ways in which our natural system protects our prosperity and well-being.
For instance, the oceans, forests, and soils of the world are the huge sources of the greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane. Farmers and fishermen provide us food by harnessing nature on land and underwater. Scientists have developed medical cures through the use of material drawn out of millions of species which make up the Earth’s biological diversity.

How can we get Involved?
It is advisable for people to get to their local parks, not for the view but by getting involved in them. Not only looking at a lake but jumping in, (where of course it is safe), and share photographs on social media with the appropriate Hashtags.
Planting trees or checking insects. You can connect with nature where the major parks have a lush green atmosphere and are a hub of biodiversity. Do your part to contribute to the urban environment by planting a greener street or a window box. Put up a spade in the soil or lift a slab and see what lies beneath.
Encourage people to organize litter pickups not only in the streets but also in forests and woods.
