The sheen of the paint affects the aura of the room. If for example if you want a nice beach type feeling in your room, do not choose high gloss. Go for matt gloss like eggshell that will absorb the light and not reflect it. If you want wild and vibrant feel then go for gloss shine. High gloss will provide electric feel to the room.

Irrespective of whether you are going for wild or something subtle, lots of patterns and shapes make a room complete. For soft, soothing patterns like waves, polka dots will be great. Use accent color in pattern. For a yellow room, use purple colored pillows along with tea.
