Chelsea star Kante awarded Player of the Year by FWA
Chelsea’s midfielder N’Golo Kante is named a player of the year by the football writers association yesterday at 8th may 2017 which has been added to his list of other accolades involving a player of the year award. The 26-year-old player is the one who helped Chelsea to take a leading spot in Premier league after winning title campaign with Leicester City in the last season.
He was formerly awarded by the award of PFA’s Player of the year this and was included in the premier league team successively for the 2nd year. He said that it is an amazing honor to win this award. Having so many great players in the Chelsea squad and in the premier league, to name him the footballer of the year was a very proud moment in the career of the player.
He is from France international and has played 33 times in the league for Conte’s men this year, scoring one and creating another but his defensive contribution has made to his side which has caught most of the attention. International team-mate Paul Pogba last month said about the earlier Caen player that he has the ability to run for 11 players. This comment results and verifies the fact that he attempted 114 tackles this season. However, some, including Cesc Fabregas says that there’s more to his game than that.
Now he is becoming popular for chasing around and making tackles which recover the ball and ending up with goals but there are more things that he does quite well. Spaniard explains Chelsea’s pre-match program before its FA cup victory over Manchester United. But because of his reputation now, people just look into this and not to see if he does something else.
The Paris-born claims his award as the latest chapter in an astonishing rise who was with Caen this time 2 years ago. Although he well thought about the league 1 circle, he was unknown outside his nation until moving to Leicester last season. He became one of the side most important players under Claudio Ranieri although he missed out on the players of the year award.
After moving to Chelsea I summer, he maintained his terrific level of form and has widely regarded as main reasons in the sides dramatic improvement of Stamford Bridge over the course of the last 1 year. He follows the footsteps of Eden Hazard, his club mate who did the same double in season 2014-15. He was one of the shortlisted men for the award, other nominee being Tottenham’s Dele Alli
